Terras da Comporta to exhibit at Asia Golf Tourism Convention

The Dunas Course at Terras da Comporta will join a select group of Portuguese courses who will head east to Abu Dhabi this month to take part for the first time in the 10th Asia Golf Tourism Convention, the continent’s most important golf tourism industry event.

Fresh from attending January’s PGA Show in America – where Terras da Comporta created history in 2023 by becoming the first course in Portugal to exhibit at the show – representatives from the acclaimed Lisbon course will be part of a Portuguese delegation who will travel to the Middle East to promote golf in Portugal.

Taking place in Abu Dhabi from March 20-22 – the first time the event has been staged outside south-east Asia – the convention will feature key figures from Asia’s golf tourism industry including more than 100 golf tour operators.

Located equidistant between East and West, AGTC 2024 is set to attract a wide-reaching collection of international golf tour operators, all selling golf destinations in Asia, Australasia, the Indian Ocean and the Gulf States.

Rodrigo Ulrich, director of golf at Terras da Comporta, said: “Having exhibited at the PGA Show in America for the last two years – the first venue in Portugal to do so – it was the natural next step for us to look at promoting Terras da Comporta in Asia.

Taking part in AGTC 2024 is a fantastic opportunity for us to speak to the key influential people in the Asian golfing world and to showcase our course to one of the most important and fastest-growing golf markets in the world.”
