TAP strike notice given

Must read

SINTAC was one of the unions representing TAP’s ground staff that signed a Company Agreement with the airline’s management, which provides for salary increases of between 6% and 10%, retroactive to July 2023.

According to the union, the agreement was granted in February, but “contrary to what happened with other workers, TAP did not fulfil its commitment to make payments agreed during processing” that same month.

“Such omission represents a profound disrespect for those who, with a lot of personal sacrifices, helped to recover the company’s results and at the same time with the Union that represents them”, says SINTAC in a statement.

The strike notice for all overtime work begins at midnight on March 28th and ends on July 30th. “The necessary services for the safety and maintenance of equipment and facilities will be ensured”, guarantees the union.

At the end of February, the Aviation and Airport Workers Union (Sitava) accused TAP of applying the new company agreements (AE), excluding ground staff.

“Today, the day the workers received their salaries, an insulting insult to ground staff took place. Indeed, the inconceivable happened. TAP applied the new company agreements to everyone, except ground staff”, Sitava pointed out in a statement.
