Studiocanal Taps Netflix VP MK Kennedy as Head of TV

Studiocanal has tapped former Netflix exec M-K Kennedy as its new head of TV.

Kennedy, whose new title is executive managing director of TV series, will report to Studiocanal CEO Anna Marsh. She will be based in London.

Kennedy was previously located in Amsterdam where she was VP of production for Europe at Netflix, responsible for building the production teams for local-language series across France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Nordics. Among the shows she worked on were “Lupin,” “Berlin” and “Machos Alfa” and films included “Society of the Snow” and “All Quiet on the Western Front.”

Prior to Netflix Kennedy was at UCP and Universal Television.

“I am truly delighted to welcome the immensely talented M-K Kennedy to Studiocanal to oversee our TV business, succeeding Francoise Guyonnet, whom I sincerely thank for her contribution in building such a strong, prosperous activity,” Marsh said in a statement. “M-K’s in-depth experience and knowledge in television production is second to none and she is an executive who demonstrates strong strategic vision.”

Kennedy said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Anna Marsh and the team at Studiocanal during an exciting time of growth and expansion for the whole Canal+ group. I can’t wait to get started!”
