Premier League clubs face tough schedules after UEFA draws

Must read

The draws for the quarter-finals onwards of the UEFA cup competitions have given four Premier League clubs a sight of what is shaping up to be a busy end to the season.

Here we look at each of the clubs’ schedules in the Premier League and Europe.

Graham Potter‘s side have been handed a tough draw in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, against 14-time winners Real Madrid.

Chelsea’s first-leg tie will take place after a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, as they travel to the Santiago Bernabeu.

They then face high-flying Brighton & Hove Albion, who beat them 4-1 in the reverse fixture, before welcoming Real to Stamford Bridge for the second leg.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola‘s team also face a tough tie in the UCL quarter-finals, as his Man City side take on his old club Bayern Munich.

There could also be an immediate return for Joao Cancelo, who joined Bayern on loan from City in January.

Their first leg at home against the six-time winners of the competition comes after a trip to Southampton.

The return tie at the Allianz Arena will take place after Man City host Leicester City.

If Chelsea and Man City both successfully navigate their quarter-final ties, they would face each other in the semi-finals, guaranteeing a Premier League club in the final for a fifth season out of the past six. Their first leg would be on 9/10 May and the second leg a week later.

They are then be scheduled to meet again a few days later in the Premier League, on the penultimate weekend of the season.

Manchester United

Man Utd will take on six-time UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the competition.

The first leg at home to the Spanish side, who have on-loan Man Utd defender Alex Telles in their squad, will take place after a home encounter with Everton.

The return fixture in Spain occurs after United travel to Nottingham Forest.
