What’s worth fighting for? Territory or togetherness? Obsession or possession? Love, certainly, but in what form? Love of a nation? Idea? Person? And what of self-love? Perhaps all of this is worth the fight, but to what extent? These are the questions that come to bear in the first moments of the Year of the Dragon as Mars signs out of his Capricorn duties.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Someone needs your compassion and your instruction. You’ve completed the lesson this person is going into. Being a guide will reinforce all you’ve learned. You’re on your way to becoming an expert.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). It is possible to be good at something you don’t enjoy, and it is possible to be bad at something that is so much fun for you. So, why require skill or talent from yourself? If you like it, do it — end of story.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Assuming you understand a person before you actually do is a common relationship mistake. Though you’ve wondered at times if you could ever really fully know someone, you continue to try, and this is what makes for golden relationships.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Get what you want. Beware of misleading marketing that might distract you from your original purpose. Avoid giving a quick decision. You shouldn’t feel squeezed at the end of a deal. In a mutually beneficial deal, scarcity tactics are unnecessary.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You don’t need to know exactly what you want to say before you express yourself. You’ll be guided by invisible forces toward eloquence. You’ll speak from the heart and your message goes to the heart.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). A puzzle is coming together for you. You learn best from passionate people. The way they deliver information makes it easy to understand. You’ll get a clear idea as to your best level and mode of involvement.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You aim to make someone’s life easier, sweeter and more comfortable. The good you are doing is substantial, even as the action of doing it is very small. The ultimate result of a ripple may very well be immeasurable.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You lower your expectations, not because you’re afraid of being disappointed but because the lack of elevation leaves room for life to surprise you. You’ll love what happens when you no longer need the action to go any particular way.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You can’t help what you like and want, but you can put yourself in environments that have an array of excellent choices. Today, this will involve going out of your way a bit. It’s a strategy that will lead to your continual thriving.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). People are attracted to you because of the way they feel around you. You really do care, and it comes through in your tenderness and attention. Your influence grows as you become more adept at accommodating a wide array of needs.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You’re a master of energy now. When you want attention, you get it, and when you want privacy, you go under the radar. Also, no one has to guess how to treat you today because you just tell them, or show them.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). It’s challenging to figure out how to please someone. You give what you think they want and it doesn’t land as expected. But keep in mind, a person’s interior response can be very different from what they show on the outside.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Feb. 11). You feel personally responsible for shaping an improved world, at least in the part of it you can influence. You never stop believing there’s a better way, and because of this, new ways are made possible. More highlights: A talent blossoms. You’ll act on an idea and put money in the bank. Familial bonds are built over fun and adventure. Leo and Gemini adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 11, 14, 9 and 21.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Whether she’s declaring the return of skinny jeans, slaying a viral “Barbie” monologue or influencing hairstyles as she’s done for decades, the way Jennifer Aniston does life is a matter of public fascination. The Aquarian friend was born when the moon, Venus and Saturn were all in fire signs, bringing a charismatic heat to the dominant air-sign energy of Aniston’s natal chart.
